Consider the silent film era in relation to movies today. What is your opinion? Were silent movies as or more effective? Why or why not? Explain your answer in detail (minimum 5 sentences).The silent film compared to todays movies, I feel wasnt as good or as explanitory as films with sound. I think that movies with sound are more effective because you are not relying on miming to get the message and storyline across. The moving visual is effective but with sound the movie is less confusing and more straight forward. However in some movies (romeo and Juliet for example) most of the language is somewhat confusing and you can tell what there saying by there body language.Blog #5 - What is your favorite radio station and why?My favorite radio staion is 104.9 The Wolf because they play the music I like and theres a wide variety of songs and bands they play from the rock/metal genre. Another reason I listen to them is because the Radio DJ's have a great sense of humor which is kind of crude but is light and funny. The Final reason I listen to this station is they dont play the same six songs all day and they dont talk about pointless celebrity gossip which im not interested in.Blog #6 - What is your favorite television show and why? The people in this show are the underdogs and easy to relate to. Summarize the article and tell me why you chose it.The article I picked is 9/11-the 10th aniversary. I picked this article because it shows how events affect us all. The article shows that how after ten years how events change our thoughts. I was five when this disaster happened and I didnt understand the hugeness of it, now ten years later I look back and I see that were still scared.Blog #8 - If you could take a vacation, hop on an airplane and go anywhere in the world tomorrow, where would you go and why?
I I were to go anywhere tomorrow I would go to Rome. I want to go to Rome because of all the history it has there, I really want to see the leaning tower of piza. I would also want to go to Rome because of the food, the cusine is world renowned and I would like to sample it. I also would love to visit Venus's temple.

The name of the commercial I watched was “free Doritos”. The commercial was well done and comedic which was probobly why it was voted in the top ten. I thought the commercial was well written but kind of cheesy. The commerical was for a popular brand.

The commercial I chose was hulu.com’s secret. I think it was voted top ten because its funny and smart and ironic. I think the commercial was really good and I enjoyed it. The actor is well known and witty.
Blog #16 - How many cell phone text messages are sent and received each day around the world? If everyone was limited to 5 text messages sent and 3 text messages received each day. .. what would you think? Would you care or be able to cope with the change? Why or why not?
There is a huge number of texts sent each day all over the world. I found numbers ranging from 10-30 trillion. If everyone was limited to three texts sent each day and five recieved i think that computer messaging would become alot more popular and talking on landlines would also be busier. People wouldnt be as connected because textin is so poular.

I would be really disconnected from all my friends i guess. I mean thats how we all communicate and Id just be the random one out. I would deal with it by using other tools such as landlines, email and facebook. It would also proboly harder to be good friends with someone because thats usually how we talk at first.

Life without cellphones would be alot more personal. People would have to talk face-to-face instead of calling and texting. Teenagers would probobly use the computer alot more to communicate, sites such as facebook would be more popular. I think that life would be better in a way that people would talk face-to-face more but less convieneint because we couldnt just shoot our friends a text when we want to talk.

Nasa has been using advanced technology for many years. The reason its important for them to have advanced technology is because of the space program. They need the most recent and updated equipment to solve issues and problems.
Blog #20 - What impact has facebook had on your life and why?
Facebook has helped me keep in touch with my friends because it makes it so easy. I have also met some of my closest friends on facebook, and i know i wouldnt be friends with them now because we would have never met. It keeps me in touch with family and friends that have moved far away. The only thing i dont like about facebook is how easy it is for people to get bullied.

I learned that there located in regina saskatchewan. I learned that there part of a national chain. I learned that they have news and also air tv shows. They are a free airing channel.

I think texting and driving is extremely stupid. Ive known people who have almost killed themselves and there friends just because they needed to reply to 'LOL'. I will never text and drive, driving is a priveledge and shouldnt be abused by being careless.

real steel, moneyball, The Ides of March, Whats your Number, Dream House, Dolphin Tale 3D, Killer elite. I would want to go to whats your number because it looks funny and i like the people in the movie. My favorite theater snack is M&M's because im addicted to them and there amazing.

I would have Bring Hayley so I dont go insane. I would bring Alanda in case we get hungry. I would also bring my guitar for the inbetween moments.

My favorite super hero is wonder woman because she is powerfull and showas female empowerment. She is tough without being butch and shows that feminine can be badass. She is smart and witty and always has a plan. She also has a sweet outfit.

I like it because the humor is grown up but not too dirty that younger kids cant understand it. MTV has programming thats aimed towards young people. There programing is fresh and new. some of the tv shows have a crude sense of humor but others are really honest and your able to connect to them. My favorite show is one girl 5 gays because its really funny and there honest.

A podcast is a radio style opinion of someone. They are free or some of the more popular podcasters charge for them. People like podcasts because of the vareity and freedom of speech.Podcasts are on every subject and because anyone can do them there are billions out there.

The moose jaw warriors are in first place right now. There record is 5-2 and 1 with an overtime loss. I dont go to the games because I dont understand hockey and I cant skate.

I would interview Freddie mercurybecause he was a great musician and a verry eccentric person. He was so passionate about what he did and he inspires me. He created so many hits and songs that everyone knows.

Hayley and me are doing a spoof of mtv shows and the drama they have in them. The main plot is three girls that are ‘best friends’ and they have alot of problems. They are steryotypical and very ditsy. My group is with hayley and alanda is helping us along with others.

the scariest movie ive ever seen is the grudge, i dont like scary movies and I only watched about fifteen minutes of it. The music is what gets me… It makes me jumpy.

Cyber Bullying is harassing someone using the internet or cell phones, its cowardly and hurtfull to whoever is the victim. I have never been cyber bullied personally but my close friend has and she was humiliated.
